Families at HMNB Portsmouth were treated to a fantastic day of fun, laughter and connection today – and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) was proud to play a part in making it all happen.
Armed with a grant of £6,400, we were delighted to help fund a whole host of entertainment and activities at this year’s Families Day. From didi karts and testing balance on a surf simulator, to inflatable axe throwing, a climbing wall, crossbow challenges and even a dance machine – there was something for every age and interest to enjoy.
Families Day events like this are so much more than just a bit of fun – they’re a vital opportunity for Naval families to spend quality time together, especially given the unique demands of service life. With occupational duties often meaning long periods away from home, events like these help create joyful shared memories and provide a space for families to relax and connect.
They also offer something less visible, but just as important – the chance to build friendships, share experiences and feel part of a wider support network with others who truly understand the challenges and rewards of life in the Naval Service.
At RNRMC, we exist to support our Naval community through all stages of life. That means providing help when times are tough – but also ensuring that moments of happiness and togetherness are made possible. By supporting events like Families Day, we’re investing in the wellbeing, morale and resilience of our Royal Navy and Royal Marines families.
Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success – and to the incredible families who are at the heart of our Naval community. We’re proud to stand with you.
