RNRMC Launches 100km Virtual Challenge

19 July 2019

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is delighted to launch an innovative Virtual Challenge to complete 100km in your own way, in your own time, to raise funds for our Naval Veteran community.

To enable everyone to take part in the 2019 Heroes Challenge, the event has gone ‘virtual’. Alongside the participants taking part in the RNRMC Heroes Cycle Challenge in September, the Virtual Challenge will allow anybody to complete 100km, military or civilian, in their local gym. Those that complete the challenge within the month will receive a well-earned medal.

Join as an individual or team and track your progress, share updates and pictures and fundraise online. All monies raised will go towards supporting veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. It costs just £5 per person to register and become part of this special virtual challenge in honour of our veterans and to mark the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.

Adrian Bell, Chief Executive of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, said:

“Our Heroes Virtual Challenge is an innovative way for everyone to be able to participate and compete in the same event. We appreciate that not everyone can take time out from their busy lives to participate in events but to be able to complete 100km in your own way, in your own time means that you can be anywhere in the world and still take part.

“This Virtual Challenge has been made possible thanks to the unique platform that one of our corporate partners has built specially for the RNRMC. It enables you to track your progress and reach your individual fitness goal as well as see how well you are doing compared to others. We are really excited to launch this and hope that everyone will feel motivated to get behind this challenge.”
