Bringing the Naval Family Together at BRNC’s Families Day

Event, Families, General, Serving Personnel

Families, friends, and Naval personnel came together today at Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) in Dartmouth for a fun-filled and heartwarming Open and Families Day – proudly supported by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).

With a £3,000 grant from RNRMC, the event was packed with activities, entertainment, and refreshments, creating the perfect atmosphere for reconnecting, relaxing, and celebrating everything that makes our Naval community so special.

Events like Families Day are about more than just having a great time – though there was certainly plenty of that. For many families, the demands of Naval life often mean long stretches apart. Days like today offer a precious opportunity to spend quality time together, while also meeting other families who understand the unique challenges and joys of life in the Royal Navy.

The RNRMC exists to support serving personnel and their loved ones throughout their lives – and that includes funding experiences that bring people together, lift morale, and build stronger communities. BRNC is the first step in an officer’s journey through the Royal Navy, and this event helped shine a light on the people who support that journey behind the scenes – the families, friends, and staff who make up the wider Naval family.

Following the huge success of the 2023 Open Day, this year’s event once again proved how vital these moments of togetherness are. From cadets showing their families around to local residents enjoying the festivities, the day was a true celebration of connection and community.

We’re proud to support BRNC’s Open and Families Day – and even prouder to support the people behind the uniform, every step of the way.
