Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity Receives Generous Donation from Lord Mayor of Portsmouth

Event, Fundraising, General
On 7 May, the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Tom Coles presented a cheque for £7,500 to our Head of Supporter Services and Engagement, Bob Field at Portsmouth's Guildhall. RNRMC, Home-Start Portsmouth and Portsmouth Hospitals Charity were the Lord Mayor’s charities for the year chosen when he began his one-year term of office on 16 May 2023.

The city of Portsmouth has a long and proud history as the home of the Royal Navy; the Lord Mayor, himself, comes from a naval family and also previously served as a Royal Navy Medical Assistant (submariner). On choosing to nominate us as one of his charities for the year, he said:

‘RNRMC do fantastic work with serving personnel, veterans and their families.’

As they come to the end of their term in office, RNRMC would like to thank the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress for championing our work over the past year and for their superb fundraising efforts which will enable us to remain at the heart of supporting our Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary personnel and their families, past, present and future.
