2019 sees the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the invasion of Normandy, and between the 18th – 21st September around 40 serving personnel and supporters of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) will be cycling from London to Paris via the Normandy Beaches as part of the inaugural Heroes Cycle Challenge sponsored by BAE Systems.

In collaboration with the RNRMC, British Forces Philatelic Service (BFPS) have produced the official Heroes Challenge 2019 commemorative cover, issued on 19th September 2019.

The images on the cover portray the cycling theme of this year's challenge. A 1st Class stamp featuring HMS Warspite pounding enemy positions in support of the beach landings will be cancelled by the BFPS 3223 handstamp designed especially for this event.

  • Standard unsigned costing just £7.50 each.
  • Numbered limited edition of 50 covers costing £15 each - signed by Commodore Craig Wood, Commander Portsmouth Flotilla, who is participating in the Challenge. Profits from these covers will be donated to the RNRMC. These covers will have an A4 information insert and both will be presented in a protective cellophane slip.

Profits from these covers will be donated to the RNRMC.
