The Royal Marines Sports Association administers the 32 approved sports of the Royal Marines.

These sports associations are run by a volunteer committee – that comprises of, at least, a chairman and a sport secretary – and are funded by the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.

Representative sports

The Royal Marines Sports Association also provides financial assistance to sportsmen or women who represent the Corps at a higher level. Equally it provides a small amount of funding for personnel should they require personal coaching in their chosen sport.

Coaching qualifications

Funding is available through the Royal Marines Sports Association for Corps personnel to gain civilian coaching qualifications, such as those provided by Sports Coach UK. Personnel are then expected to use their new found skills, and to coach their peers, within their respective sports association.

The 32 sports associations are:

- Archery - Equestrian - Martial Arts - Sports Para
- Angling - Fencing - Motor Sports - Squash
- Badminton - Football - Orienteering - Swimming
- Basketball - Golf - Rifle - Tennis
- Boxing - Hockey - Running - Triathlon
