Today, Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity was honoured to attend and support a remarkable event celebrating 120 years of dedicated service by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA). Held in the beautiful surroundings of Admiralty House at HM Naval Base Portsmouth, the garden party brought together RFA personnel, veterans, and supporting organisations to mark this proud milestone.
For more than a century, the RFA has served as the backbone of naval operations—providing vital logistical support to the Royal Navy across the globe. From delivering fuel, food, and ammunition, to supporting humanitarian missions and peacekeeping efforts, the RFA plays an indispensable role in enabling naval forces to remain at sea and deliver on their operational commitments.
We were delighted to stand alongside those who serve and have served in the RFA, recognising the unique contribution of this often-unsung branch of the Naval Service. The day was a celebration not just of a rich and storied history, but of the dedicated people who make the RFA what it is today.

Our trustee, Surgeon Captain Jo Keogh OBE RN, delivered a powerful and heartfelt speech during the event. In her remarks, she highlighted the ongoing commitment of RNRMC to supporting RFA personnel and their families as part of our wider beneficiary community. Jo also shared her own personal connection to the service—her father proudly served in the RFA—bringing a poignant sense of legacy and pride to the occasion.
As part of the celebrations, we were proud to launch a brand-new booklet that outlines the many ways the RFA community can access support from the RNRMC. From welfare grants and mental health services to family support and community projects, the booklet serves as a valuable guide to the help available for those who dedicate their lives to this essential service.
At Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, we are committed to ensuring no member of our Naval family is left behind, and today’s event was a powerful reminder of the RFA’s enduring importance. As we look ahead to the future, we remain steadfast in our support of the RFA and its people—today, tomorrow, and always.
