Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) proudly took part in the HMS Collingwood Open Day, an annual celebration that welcomed thousands of visitors to explore and enjoy the rich traditions and modern capabilities of the Royal Navy.
A highlight of the event was the adrenaline-charged RNRMC Field Gun Competition, a longstanding naval tradition that captivated audiences with its display of teamwork, precision, and strength. The competition, generously supported by a grant from RNRMC, saw personnel from the armed forces compete in a thrilling showcase of discipline and determination.
Alongside the competition, the Open Day offered a wealth of family-friendly attractions, including military displays, interactive exhibits, fairground rides, food stalls, and the ever-popular bridge simulator. The event provided a unique opportunity for members of the public to engage with serving personnel and gain insight into life in the Royal Navy.
The RNRMC stand was a vibrant hub throughout the day, where visitors could learn more about RNRMC’s mission to provide lifelong support to serving and former naval personnel, as well as their families. Many expressed their appreciation for the charity’s vital work and took part in fundraising activities aimed at supporting its programmes.
RNRMC is grateful for the tremendous support shown by all who participated in the HMS Collingwood Open Day – which kindly raised money for our charity. Proceeds from ticket sales and other fundraising activities on the day go directly towards supporting our serving personnel, veterans, and their families – for life.
As ever, the HMS Collingwood Open Day was not only a celebration of naval excellence but also a powerful reminder of the community that underpins the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. RNRMC is honoured to be part of this tradition and remains committed to supporting those who serve – past and present.
