HMS Raleigh’s Messtival Boosts Morale and Togetherness.

Event, General, Serving Personnel

This July, HMS Raleigh’s WO/SR & SNCO Mess came together for an evening of celebration, connection, and community at their annual Summer Messtival. Supported in part by RNRMC funding, the event welcomed over 150 personnel and guests for a night of live music from the much-loved 80s tribute band, Riviera Dogs.

While these events may be light-hearted in nature, their impact runs much deeper. For serving personnel, time to connect away from the pressures of service life is vital. Social occasions like the Messtival create space for camaraderie, laughter and support resulting in strengthening relationships across the mess and reinforcing the wellbeing of those who serve.

As a smaller mess, delivering a high-quality event can be a financial challenge. The RNRMC grant helped HMS Raleigh cover entertainment costs, making the event more accessible for all mess members and their guests. Funds raised on the night were also donated back to the RNRMC - supporting even more serving personnel and their families across the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

At RNRMC, we believe that meaningful moments like this play a vital role in supporting our naval community. We’re proud to help bring them to life.
