Over 500 Phase 2 trainees and staff at HMS Collingwood came together for an energising end-of-term celebration with support from RNRMC.
Organised by PO Emma Van De Watering and LH Joe Harvey, with support from HMS TEMERAIRE’s Sports Officers, the afternoon began with team sports and finished with a relaxed social gathering complete with refreshments, provided in partnership with ESS catering. It was a chance for trainees to take a break from routine, strengthen relationships, and enjoy being part of a shared community.
Why these moments matter
At RNRMC, we know that life in the Navy is rewarding - but it’s not without its pressures. That’s why we support events like these. They offer space to recharge, connect, and feel part of something greater.
For those early in their military careers, especially trainees, moments of camaraderie and inclusion build morale, foster resilience, and help develop strong, confident individuals who are ready to serve.
Wellbeing in the military isn’t just about physical fitness. It’s about emotional connection, mental clarity, and having a community around you that lifts you up.
