Supporting Submarine Medics Through Connection, Camaraderie and Continued Learning.

Event, General, Serving Personnel

Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is proud to have supported this year’s Submarine Medical Conference, an event which brings together  Medical Assistant (Submarines) (MA(SM)), Medical Officer (Submarines (MO(SM)) and Marine Engineer stakeholders of Submarine Departments to share expertise, strengthen community, and celebrate achievements within the Submarine Medical Branch.

This year's conference was held at both HMNB Clyde and HMNB Devonport, to maximise the opportunity for everyone to attend. The conference offered attendees the chance to participate in hands-on learning, contribute to workforce discussions, and engage with industry partners in a dynamic and supportive environment. Crucially, it served as a much-needed space for camaraderie and recognition - two things often difficult to foster in isolated, high-pressure submarine roles.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the LMA Relentless Award, sponsored by the RNRMC, to Leading Medical Assistant(SM) Ewan Waters. This accolade recognises newly qualified Leading Medical Assistants (Submarines) who demonstrate unwavering dedication and courage in their first operational assignment.

WO1(MA)(SM) Paul Cook said:

“May I start by sending enormous thanks for the help you gave Andrew in arranging the RNRMC Grant that enabled us to put this event together - it is massively appreciated by all that attended.”
