Today, HMS Sultan opened its gates to host a vibrant celebration of family, connection, and community – and the result was nothing short of fantastic.
Families Day 2025 was all about recognising and celebrating the people who support our Naval personnel day in and day out. From serving personnel and their loved ones to staff across the establishment, the event welcomed hundreds for an action-packed day on base – made even more special by the glorious summer sunshine.
With support from a £3,351.90 grant from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC), the event was packed with entertainment and activities for all ages. Whether it was enjoying the fairground rides, exploring interactive displays, or simply soaking up the atmosphere with an ice cream in hand, the day delivered moments of joy at every turn.
For families, it was an opportunity to step inside the world of HMS Sultan – to see where their loved ones work and train, meet others who share the highs and challenges of service life, and spend valuable time together in a setting that rarely opens to the public.
These events play an important role in supporting wellbeing across the Royal Navy community. For many, the nature of Naval service means time apart, irregular schedules, and unique pressures – and moments like today offer a welcome chance to reconnect and recharge.
At RNRMC, we’re proud to support events that bring our community together, build stronger bonds, and remind families they’re never alone in Naval life.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring the day to life – and to the families who continue to support our Armed Forces behind the scenes, every step of the way.
