Our incredible fundraisers make a real difference

We simply couldn't deliver much-needed help and support to the naval family without the amazing efforts of our fundraisers. Thank you.

Of course, the more money we raise together, the more can be spent improving the quality of day-to-day life for our serving personnel, their families and veterans.

So let's get creative! Whether you love a team challenge, are planning a jailbreak, want to run miles, cycle in all weather, are the king of fancy dress or perhaps you are a Bake Off star - we need you to get fundraising in whichever way suits you best. Every donation counts and we're grateful to everyone who digs deep and supports The Royal Navy and Royal Marines family.

How does it help?

The money you raise for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity goes back into the naval family to improve the quality of day-to-day life. Your support may enable a much needed morale-boost, help to make life more comfortable on board or allow families to get together during their loved one's deployment. Whatever the amount, your donations go a long way:

  • £15 could provide a night shelter for a homeless veteran
  • £100 could help to provide speech, recreational and physiotherapy for a physically disabled veteran for a week
  • £300 could fund a special needs support group family event
  • £400 could help to fund a recruit's battlefield tour of northern France
  • £1,000 could fund a families day for a ship returning from deployment

Get involved

There are lots of exciting ways you can get involved in fundraising for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. You can even get your family, friends and work colleagues to join in too.

The only limit on what you choose to do is your imagination. If running is your passion then take a look at our events page to see which races you can take part in. We may have charity spaces available or you can secure your own space in your chosen event and raise sponsorship for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

If you're planning a personal challenge or perhaps are part of a team effort, please let our fundraising team know and they will make sure you're fully resourced to make the most of the opportunity.

Of course, there is always our Twickenham 100 Challenge which is open to everyone and offers the chance to really push yourself and go the distance for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

Perhaps consuming calories is more your thing, in which case why not organise a cake sale and challenge your friends to a bake off! If you would like to organise a bucket collection or host an event to raise funds, then we can support you once you have registered your event with our fundraising team.

Schools can support The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity by registering for Red, White & Blue Day; a national initiative designed to get school children talking about and interested in our Armed Forces.

These are just a few ideas to get you started. We know that our supporters have some of the most creative and unique fundraising ideas that we've seen, from running from Plymouth to Twickenham to completing an underwater marathon or a 24-hour sail. So put your thinking caps on and go BIG!

Need some help?

We know it can be daunting knowing where to start. So we've produced a fundraising guide to help kick start your challenge and turn your bright idea into a fundraising venture. We can also equip you with collection tins, buckets, t-shirts, running vests and banners - just get in touch and we'll help you to achieve your fundraising goal!

Please make sure you've touched base with our fundraising team to register your event, as this helps us ensure our wonderful fundraisers are well supported and that you keep your fundraising event safe and legal.

Receiving Donations

Once you begin your fundraising challenge, you’ll soon find that you have people wanting to support you with donations.  Setting up an online donations page for your event is a quick, easy and secure way for people to support you and is easy to share through social media. It also allows us to claim Gift Aid on the money you raise.

In addition to Virgin Money Giving, there are other ways to get the money you have raised to the RNRMC. Please visit 'Other Ways to Donate' for further information.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities. If you are a UK taxpayer, for every £1 you donate the Charity will receive and extra 25 pence from HM Revenue and Customs, at no additional cost to you or your sponsors. This means that a £10 donation will be worth £12.50 and for every £50 gift, we will receive £62.50.

To enable us to claim Gift Aid on your donation, please download and complete our Gift Aid declaration form.
