For those of you who are tired of 10k runs and marathons or simply do not feel these are enough of a challenge, why not really push yourself and try a challenge with Discover Adventure?

What is Discover Adventure?

Discover Adventure is an organisation that runs fundraising challenges for those who want to push themselves hard in the name of charity. Set up in 1994, they offer various challenges such as trekking, cycling and canoeing over a wide range of locations from the mountains, to desert and even jungle.

Perhaps you have run the Great South Run or the London Marathon and have been dreaming about trekking Machu Picchu or the Great Wall of China? You can now turn that ambition into reality with Discover Adventure.

Choosing the right challenge for you

A long list of Open Challenges are available and designed to push your limits. They require good preparation both in terms of fundraising and improving fitness. All events are open to anyone who is wanting to raise money for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

Trips are graded using five levels of difficulty, one being a moderate challenge and five being extreme. A moderate challenge will have long days of physical activity over varied terrain and will require a good level of fitness. An extreme challenge is exactly that, extreme! They will involve high altitude, rough terrain and extremes of temperatures requiring high levels of stamina and perseverance.

All Open Challenges are designed to be flexible to fit different time commitments and different budgets. You can either choose to fundraise a specified target amount, or fund your own trip costs and raise whatever you can.

Whatever you choose, you can be sure that your trip will be professionally-run, very rewarding and - very importantly - great fun!

What challenges are available?

The Open Challenges tackle iconic locations across the globe from the Amazon to the Grand Canyon to Mount Everest. Below is a good range of options available ranging over five continents, with different fees and difficulty ratings.

The list below is only a small selection of options available, there are many others available on the Discover Adventure Website If there are any that take your fancy but are not listed below and for more information, please contact our fundraising team via email at [email protected] or call 023 9387 1520 to discuss further.
