Oona Muirhead has been a Trustee of the RNRMC since December 2013. Between April 2014 and June 1015 she chaired the Strategy Task Group for the RNRMC, developing a new Mission and 5-year Strategic Framework. 

Oona started her career in the Ministry of Defence in 1979, working in roles from policy to crisis management, media handling, and change leadership. She was part of the team that set up the Permanent Joint Headquarters in 1995, and Press Secretary revamping the MOD PR organisation and running it during the 1999 Kosovo crisis.

From 2003 Oona developed policy and implemented change in the Environment Department, the Local Government Association, and as Chief Executive in the South East England Development Agency. 

Since 2012 Oona has combined short-term business development assignments with non-executive roles in both the public and private sectors. Oona’s other roles include NED at the Office for Nuclear Regulation chairing their Security Committee and NED at the ethical and human rights auditing company MSS Global.
