Salvation Army Trading Company provide unique clothes bins on multiple Royal Navy bases in the UK to collect unwanted items of clothing.

All clothing collected is used by Salvation Army to support people in need in the UK. This includes providing clothing and shoes for homeless people, a large percentage of whom are former service personnel. Other clothing will be sold to Salvation Army Charity shops to raise income. 

Profit made by Salvation Army Trading Company is gift aided to the Salvation Army Charity shops to support their charitable works. Items not suitable for resale are then sold for ragging and recycling. 

For each tonne collected, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity receive £170.

Look out for the below bins at your base. They are currently situated in the following bases:

  • HMS Nelson
  • HMS Sultan
  • HMS Collingwood
  • HMS Excellent
  • HMNB Devonport
  • HMS Raleigh
