Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) has unveiled the new official logo for the RNRMC Field Gun Competition during a special event held on board HMS Victory.

The launch took place on 20 February at a Field Gun Executive Team meeting hosted by Commodore Steve Bolton and Captain Paul Thomson, where the official team draw was also conducted ahead of this year’s competition at HMS Collingwood.

The Royal Navy Field Gun Competition is one of the Service’s most iconic traditions, inspired by the heroic efforts of sailors during the Siege of Ladysmith in the Boer War. Today, it remains a powerful test of teamwork, endurance and determination, bringing together the armed forces community in a high-energy display of speed, strength and unity.

RNRMC has proudly supported the competition for many years, providing grants to participating teams and funding the maintenance of the specialist equipment that keeps this historic event alive.

Adam Silverthorne, RNRMC Design & Brand Manager, who created the new logo and unveiled it at the event, said:

It was a real privilege to be invited to the Executive Team meeting and to unveil the new logo on board HMS Victory. Designing something that will become part of the Field Gun Competition, a tradition that means so much across the Royal Navy, is something I’m incredibly proud of.

The aim was to create an identity that incorporates RNRMC branding and reflects the teamwork and competitiveness of the event while respecting its heritage. Seeing it launched in such a historic setting made it even more special.

This year’s RNRMC Field Gun Competition at HMS Collingwood is expected to draw strong support from across the Royal Navy community as teams prepare to battle it out on the track.
