Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) are pleased to announce the appointment of Lara Van De Peer as its Grants Commissioning Manager in Scotland.
This new role has been created to strengthen the charity’s grants and commissioning presence across Scotland and ensure that Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel, veterans, and their families receive tailored support that meets their specific needs. By working closely with local partners and communities, RNRMC will be better placed to deliver initiatives that make a lasting difference, particularly in areas such as mental health, wellbeing, and family support.
Lara joins as part of the RNRMC’s new project Strengthening Families – West of Scotland - funded as part of the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s Apart Not Alone portfolio. Lara brings with her 25 years of experience in the third sector, with the past decade focused on health and social care, including community transport and mental health provision. Most recently, she led a suicide bereavement support project as part of the Scottish Government’s National Suicide Prevention Strategy, overseeing delivery across the Highlands, Argyll, and Bute. Her career has consistently prioritised collaborative partnerships, improving access to services, and putting beneficiaries at the heart of decision-making.
Speaking about her appointment, Lara said:
I’m proud to join Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity as the new Grants Manager for Scotland. I’m passionate about improving mental health and wellbeing support for submariners and their families in the Helensburgh area, and I look forward to developing meaningful initiatives that bring lasting impact to the community.
