Mark Dowie


Mark Dowie became a trustee of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity in July, 2017.  He is a former RN Supply Officer and left the service in 1990 to pursue a career in banking.  Mark’s most recent role was as Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate and Institutional Bank at Standard Chartered where he led the bank’s business across 43 countries around the world.  Mark has also owned and operated a small Marine Services business in Devon.  He has wide charitable experience including being a Launching Authority for the Salcombe Lifeboat, a trustee of the Britannia Association and a major funding and supporting interest in an orphanage and school in Kenya.  Mark is married and lives in Devon with his wife Hazel, and one of his three children is a serving Royal Marine.  His interests include sailing and flying.  He is a former Justice of the Peace.
