For Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Alice Booker, life in the Royal Navy is a constant balance between professional dedication and family responsibility. Whether she’s leading by example within Recruit and Attract, maintaining her own fitness goals, and caring for her young son, her commitment never wavers.
With a demanding workload, Alice is known for going above and beyond – often using personal time to stay on top of her responsibilities while ensuring her young son’s needs are always met. Despite long days and solo-parenting stretches whilst her also serving partner is deployed, she continues to inspire those around her with her positivity, energy, and resilience. She has even taken on a Hyrox competition and maintains her dedication to physical fitness.
Recognising her extraordinary dedication, CPO Booker was nominated to receive a Parkdean holiday through Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity’s Reward and Recognition initiative. This gave her and her family the chance to enjoy some much-needed rest and time together.
It was such a wonderful surprise to receive an email from the lovely RNRMC team, I had no idea I had been put forward. The options were great to choose from, and we had a fantastic week away, spending quality time together as a family. We returned feeling rested and having made some amazing memories. Our little boy is 3 and in nursery full time due to not having any family local to help, this broke up a long summer for him, he absolutely loved being in the caravan and going to the entertainment in the evening. Thank you so, so much, we are so grateful to you all.

Through RNRMC’s partnership with Parkdean Resorts, serving personnel and their families can take time away from their busy lives to reconnect and recharge. For CPO Booker, it was an opportunity to step back, relax, and make joyful memories with her son and her partner. This is a simple but powerful reminder of the difference that moments of rest can make.
