Does my project, facility, item or event qualify for funding?

Your application must demonstrate that it is able to promote efficiency within the Royal Navy or that it will increase the morale or enhance the well-being of Naval Service personnel and their dependants. Applications should not be made if your request could be funded by public money.

Will I need to help fund it?

We like to see that applicants have considered a range of funding avenues; this could include contributions from your Mess funds, personal contributions paid by personnel or money raised through your own fundraising activity.

In an ideal world at least 25 per cent (or more) of the total cost of your application would be covered by your own efforts, and if we are able to, we will fund the remaining amount.

If a contribution of 25 per cent or more is not possible, please justify this in your application so we can give this further consideration.

Can I retrospectively apply for funding?

No. Unfortunately we are unable to provide funding to support events that have already taken place. Equally we are unable to make a contribution toward goods and services that have already been purchased.

How long will my application take?

We like to act quickly, therefore the outcome of a 'Minor Grant' should be known within 21 working days.
A 'Major Grant' has a longer process which you will be advised of at the time of applying.
