Over the past five years, Trustees of Ascot Racecourse have designated the Friday of Ascot as an unofficial Armed Forces Day. Not only were special ticket offers supplied to military personnel, but approximately 100 volunteers were collecting donations on behalf of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and other military charities. The kind volunteers were members of the Royal Marines, Army and Royal Air Force. In the last four years, racegoers at Ascot have generously donated over £80,000 to the tri-service charities. The charities support military personnel, past and present, and their families in their times of need with a wide range of practical, emotional, and financial support.
