The Yeovil Marathon has announced that the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) will once again benefit as an official charity partner in 2016.

The marathon is returning for a second year on 12 June in the Athletics Track, RNAS Yeovilton. With over 200 entrants in 2015, the RNRMC and Yeovilton Military Wives Choir shared a pot of £3,500 which looks set to increase this year with the rising popularity of the event.

Bryn Phillips, Event Organiser and PO Air Engineering Technician from RNAS Yeovilton said: "It is an honour to be making these two charities beneficiaries. Both of them offer such great support to the RN family and the wider Armed Forces community which invariably spreads out to the local communities."

On the day

The event is not just a marathon, it is about bringing the whole family together to enjoy the day with hot and cold food and drink available, various stalls, bouncy castle and a Children's Fun Run. There will also be a gourmet food wagon provided by event sponsor Norseland Ltd who will be handing out toasties and free samples to competitors and their families.

The RNRMC is very excited to be a part of this fantastic event and grateful for all the support for the Charity. All funds raised will help support sailors, marines and their families, for life.
