The Maritime Charities Group (MCG), of which the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is a member, has commissioned the Institute of Public Care at Oxford Brookes University to carry out a survey of the dependents and families of seafarers: Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleet.

The aim of the survey is to find out how needs have changed in the ten years since a previous survey was conducted and to find out how those needs may change in the future. This information will help the Maritime Charities Group to plan how best to meet the future needs of seafarers’ families and their dependants.

The MCG is looking at the needs of the spouses or partners and families of personnel in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.  As part of this, the Group has asked the Institute of Public Care at Oxford Brookes University to do a survey to find out how needs have changed in the last 10 years.  The survey is an important opportunity for families to provide information that will help the MCG plan how best to meet the needs of Royal Navy and Royal Marines families in the future.

A large group of beneficiaries of the RNRMC are the families and dependants of our Navy's service personnel so this survey is very important to us. We will use the results to ensure we provide the most effective help to those in need.
