News and Media Latest news Pusser’s Rum contributes generous donation to The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity Honouring tradition and its strong historical links with the Royal Navy, Pusser’s Rum made a substantial donation to the RNRMC on 3 September. Taking place at the Charity’s home of HMS Excellent, Portsmouth, a cheque for £20,000 was presented by Gary Rogalski, President and CEO of Pusser’s Rum, and accepted on behalf of the Charity by its Head of Community Fundraising, Lauren Wileman. The long-standing partnership between Pusser’s Rum and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity has seen the brand make sizeable donations to the Charity which over the past 18 years now total in excess of £250K. Explaining the relationship before the presentation began, Gary Rogalski, President and CEO of Pusser’s Rum said: “We have made annual contributions to the RNRMC since 1998, and will continue to do so for many more years to come. The donation always gets put to very good use so it is our pleasure to once more be passing over a generous cheque to support the charity’s efforts towards supporting Royal Navy and Royal Marines communities.” Photo, left to right: George Freegard and Gary Rogalskik (Pusser's Rum), Lauren Wileman (RNRMC) and Paul Quinn (Royal Naval Association) The rum connection Due to Pussers’ close historical connection with the sailors of the Royal Navy (more specifically the issuing of the ‘tot’ of rum on board ships); the donation will be used to fund projects and activities that enhance wellbeing and boost the morale of personnel across the current Naval Service, be they sailors, submariners or Royal Marines. Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity Head of Community Fundraising, Lauren Wileman, receiving the cheque yesterday said: “We are grateful to Pusser’s Rum for its continued support of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. This generous donation will have a significant impact on helping us to achieve our vision of a world in which our sailors, marines and their families are valued and supported for life”.
