The China Fleet Club has announced that it is expanding its remit to support Royal Naval (RN) and Royal Marines (RM) Reserve personnel and their families.

The China Fleet Trust is a charity which exists to provide recreational and leisure facilities to its Beneficiaries in order to promote the overall efficiency and welfare of the Armed Forces. The Trust’s extensive facilities are located in Saltash, near Plymouth, and are operated on its behalf by the China Fleet Country Club Ltd.

The Club welcomes civilians who can join as members, thereby ensuring the ongoing financial viability of the Club, and provides the income to invest in the maintenance and improvement of the Club’s facilities for its Beneficiaries.

The China Fleet Club Committee has considered that, given the Future Reserves Programme and in recognition of the increasing role that Reservists have played in operations during the last decade, all RN and RM Reserve Non Commissioned personnel and their families should be included as beneficiaries.

The China Fleet Trust therefore is pleased to announce that with effect from 1 June 2014:

  • All Non Commissioned RN and RM Reserve personnel and their immediate families will join serving Non Commissioned RN and RM personnel by becoming beneficiaries of the China Fleet Club
  • All former RN and RM personnel, serving RN and RM Officers and other Services attached to or embedded within RN and RM units together with their immediate families be awarded a beneficiary status that offers special rates and month by month packages with no joining fee
  • Serving RN and RM Non Commissioned personnel and Reserves will maintain primacy and continue to be represented by their current Committee Members and the Committee Chair will represent the interests of the new beneficiary categories.

The Club will be holding a Free Open Day on Sunday 29th June with lots of family entertainment to celebrate this significant occasion and welcome its new beneficiaries to the China Fleet Family.
