Yeovil Marathon will return for its second year on 11 June with spaces available for both experienced and amateur runners.

The race

Fairly flat, with small inclines, the route starts and finishes on an athletics track and follows main roads and country roads through the village of Yeovilton, the quaint village of Ashington and on towards Mudford.

The event is not just a marathon, it is about bringing the whole family together to enjoy the day with hot and cold food and drink available, various stalls, bouncy castle and a Children's Fun Run. There will also be a gourmet food wagon provided by event sponsor Norseland Ltd who will be handing out toasties and free samples to competitors and their families.

Support of Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity

The race is being held in aid of two charities; the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and the Yeovilton Military Wives Choir, part of the Military Wives Choir Foundation. Both charities will share the overall pot of money raised by the event.

Bryn Phillips, Event Organiser and PO Air Engineering Technician from RNAS Yeovilton said: "It is an honour to be making these two charities beneficiaries. Both of them offer such great support to the RN family and the wider Armed Forces community which invariably spreads out to the local communities."
