On Thursday 4th April 2019, the 12th annual Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch will be held at London’s Guildhall. The Lunch supports members of her Majesty’s Armed Forces and Veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan through the three National Service Charities; ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

The Lunch is hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of London and aims to have raised over £2 million (net) since 2008 by April 2019.

Tickets are £100, which includes unlimited curry, beer, and wine. The Lunch will begin at midday and there will be three lunch sittings, at 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 2.00pm. It will finish at 3.00pm.

Who will be there?

The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch brings together over 1,000 key decision makers and influential leaders from organisations across the various business sectors of the City of London and beyond, hosted by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the City of London and the Sheriffs and their consorts. Many of these individuals are also:

  • Members of the City of London’s Livery Companies and Ward Clubs
  • Senior officers, serving personnel and veterans from the three armed forces
  • Members of Parliament, including the Secretary of State for Defence

Each year we welcome a Royal Guest of Honour, who in the past have included HRH The Prince of Wales, HRH Prince Henry of Wales and HRH The Princess Royal. The 2019 Royal Guest of Honour will be announced closer to the time of the Lunch.

Many of the Charity’s beneficiaries will also be joining us, along with serving soldiers. We encourage you to introduce yourself to them and to learn about their experiences in the military.
