The Christ the Redeemer monument has made it on to the list of famous locations being visited through this 50-day challenge to raise money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

The third leg of this epic 50,000 mile journey started on the beach in Rio in the glorious sun before heading for Christ the Redeemer, one of the most famous statues in the world. At the feet of the statue, Irene played her bagpipes in front of a large crowd of tourists all eager to catch a photographic memory of this unique moment. The huge statue watched over as the music bellowed down the steps, over the crowd and down to the rooftops of Rio.

Next stop, Buenos Aires!

This challenge is in an effort to raise £50,000 for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and Julia’s House. You can donate to her cause at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/bagpipetheworld
