Up to 700 serving Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel enjoyed a rare occasion to unwind and refresh at the Junior Rates (JR) Christmas Lunch at Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton. Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) funding meant the JRs were treated to a meal, refreshments, crackers and decorations to welcome the holidays.

Chief Petty Officer (CPO) J S Hockenhull boasted “it was the best organised Christmas lunch that has taken place [at] RNAS Yeovilton” and the RNRMC hope that this will help the 700 attendees start 2016 refreshed and motivated.

J S Hockenhull, the Catering Office Manager took the time to write this thank you letter:

“Dear Anne

“I would like to thank you for agreeing to our application for the Junior Ranks Christmas Lunch grant.  The meal was extremely successful and well attended by the Junior Rates.  The lunch was served by around 30 officers and aided by the Sodexo staff, which it wouldn’t have been as successful if they hadn’t helped.

“The Christmas crackers and party poppers we a hit and I am pleased to say that there were no food fights! The event ran smoothly and I wouldn’t have been able to provide as much without your help.  I have been informed that it was the best organised Christmas Lunch that has taken place here at RNAS Yeovilton.

“Thank you again for your kind donation and support for this event.”
