From July to December 2015, chefs and stewards on HMS Montrose raised a brilliant total of £500 for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

Donations were collected for the weekly lunches and stand easy breakfast rolls they served the Ship’s Company. Despite a prolonged refit and working ashore in Lowden Building in Devonport, the dedicated team of chefs and stewards were able to put on the meals and raise the money by cooking up a storm in Lowden Galley. Gastronomic highlights included Chorizo pasties and a giant white chocolate truffle as a Christmas lunch dessert (with wine cooler dimensions).

Senior Naval Officer Georgina Stanistreet said of the fundraising, “RNRMC do such an incredible amount for sailors and their families that we were delighted to be able to raise the money for them, and in a way which brought our Ship’s Company together.”

RNRMC are extremely grateful for the generosity shown by HMS Montrose's Ship's company and the hard work put in by the chefs and stewards. This money will go a long way to help us support sailors, marines and their families.
